Batting first, The Rail piled on 9/271 from their 50 overs (Scott Groves 4-49; James Hayman 3-48).
Gerringong lost an early wicket in their chase, however a settling 100 run partnership between Scoot Brown (57) and captain Manning Berry (97) steadied the ship with contributions by the middle order, most significantly Aidan Wearne (54no), ensured the Jets reached the total comfortably in the 43rd over.
Gerringong 2nd Grade played The Kookas & unfortunately once again started poorly and were 6/31 early. A middle order 60 run partnership between Dominic Cooper (60) and Callum Houghton-Smith (20) gave something for the Jets bowlers to defend at 122.
The Jets bowlers got off to a good start and had the Kookas at 5/69 at one stage with Jimmy St Quintin (2/26) & Dominic Cooper 2/28 taking early wickets, however the Kookas cruised to victory after that point reaching the total 5/128 off 21 overs.
Gerringong 4th Grade continued their up and down year losing to The Rail who remain undefeated for the season.
Batting first, Gerringong reached a total of 137 off 35 overs (Paul Peterson 42; Brad Speering 24) which unfortunately was no-where near enough runs against The Rail who have been grand finalists for the last three years.
The Rail reached the total of 1/139 inside 20 overs, Pete Parker the only wicket taker 1/25.
The Gerringong U16A’s (Combined side with Albion Park and Lake Illawarra), chasing 198 from last weekend ( Hayden Presland 1-16; Fletcher Allerby 1-16) scored a great win, passing the total easily 8/272 dec (Callum Barton from APCC 100rtno and Tasman Berry 52no).
The Gerringong U14A’s had a strong win over Albion Park in their match that was reduced to a one dayer after last weeks washout.
Batting first, Gerringong amassed 4/164 off their 25 overs (Ethan Smith 44no; George Michael 32; Lachlan Weir 23; Ashton Ward 23no). Albion Park struggled in their chase reaching only 8/96 off 23 overs (Emma Speering 2-4; Lachlan Weir 2-6; Ethan Smith 2-9).
The Gerringong U12s side had a good win over Kiama Blue.
Batting first Gerringong scored 3/93 off 30 their overs (Will Speering 26no; Abbey Speering 17rtno; Hayden Buchanan 13rtno).
Kiama’s young team struggled against some very good bowling and were eventually bowled out for 40 (Ben Jackson 2-3; Mike Rogers 2-5; Regan Smith 2-6).
The Gerringong U11 Gold team had very close loss to the Rail Red team Batting first, the Rail scored 3/83 off their 20 overs (Vincent Sherrell 1-2; Rocky Hingle 1-3; Tom Peterson 1-6). Gerringong chased hard but fell agonisingly 1 run short reaching 4/82 off their 20 overs (Rocky Hingle 12no; Sol Parker 12no).
