Jamberoo third grade defied all odds and managed to secure a one wicket victory with one ball to spare against Shellharbour at Myimbar East on Saturday.

In easily one of the best games of the season, Shellharbour won the toss and batted first in warm conditions and were restricted to a strong total of 9/241. An under strength Jamberoo side did well to keep their bowling tight as captain Steve Bruce was the pick of the bowlers taking impressive figures of 3/30. Ruben Campbell 2/56, Scott Adams 2/58, Shaun Tweed 1/43 and Nick Bruce 1/53 provided crucial bowling spells.

The runs were shared around during Jamberoo’s excellent chase as they finished the innings at 9/243. Scott Adams top scored with a rapid fire 65 while life member Greg Harris wound back the clock with a crucial individual score of 31. Nick Bruce 31, Shaun Tweed 25*, Mick Welch 25 and Simon Tweed 24 all played important roles in what was stunning victory for Jamberoo third grade.

A terrific bowling performance from the Jamberoo/Albion Park Under 14bs Combined side paved the way for their hard fought five wicket victory over the Cavailer Razorbacks at Keith Irvine Oval.

The Razorbacks struggled to get any stable partnerships going as they were met by a Jamberoo/Albion Park side that showed a lot determination and grit in the field. Troy Barrett finished with the best figures of 2/11 while Hayden Pickering 1/1, Andrew Meijer1/4, Zac Brown 1/5 and Jett Presland 1/5 all were great for the home side as the Razorbacks completed their innings at 6/57.

The Beagles took their time with the chase and took just under 18 overs to gain victory at 5/60. Hunter Ockenden impressed with 17 while Jett Presland 8, Jack McGuire 8 and Hayden Pickering 6 also stood out for Jamberoo/Albion Park.

Jamberoo second grade endured a narrow three wicket loss to their arch rivals Kiama at Kevin Walsh Oval on Saturday.

The hosts put up a highly competitive performance with the bat as they were bowled out for 206 in 48.5 overs. Opening batsmen Scott Harris soaked up plenty of time at the crease with his top score of 51 while Chris McDonald 43* and skipper Kyle Ferguson 38 provided important contributions for Jamberoo.

The visitors struggled during the early stages of the innings at 3/14 before a few strong partnerships enabled them to get across the line and finish the game at 7/211. Jamberoo fought hard in the field as James Ward led the way with the ball with excellent figures of 3/33. Richard Jason Lewis 2/18, Adrian Stokes 1/29 and Jacob Hudson 1/43 applied a lot pressure on Kiama during their spells.

Fourth grade had a tough afternoon at Keith Hockey Oval against Shellharbour as they slumped to their fourth consecutive loss.

The Bulls only had eight players but did have some great individual performances from the likes of Zac Heffernan 15 and 1/39, Bailey Leonard who top scored with 34 and Luke Bullivant 2/36.

The Under 11Bs were just five runs short of pulling of an amazing come from behind victory against Kiama White at Keith Irvine Mini Oval.

The visitors were in control after posting 2/120 but the Bulls fought back thanks to brilliant knocks from Tavish Thomson 18, Will Thomson 17 and Oliver Poole 10 before Kiama White managed to just hold on by the skin of their teeth with Jamberoo finishing their innings at 8/115.
