Then Berry is the place to be on Saturday, December 2 from 5pm.
In what is now an annual tradition, dozens of Santas will race through Berry, followed by decorated shopping trolleys full of donated goods, all for local charities.
The Santa Dash and Trolley Drive are part of the Berry Merry Christmas Event, taking place on Queen Street and surrounds.
Organised by the Berry Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and the Rotary Club of Berry, the evening sees the streets of Berry come alive with the Grand Santa Parade down Queen Street followed by an evening of family friendly activities, including kids’ rides, a live nativity scene, musicians, community stalls, and a real live santa for the kids to visit and take selfies with.
Shops, cafes and restaurants will stay also open late.
“Berry Merry Christmas is getting bigger and bigger each year,” Berry Chamber president Anthony Houghton said.
“It’s such a fun local celebration of Christmas, and we now have visitors who come from Sydney and Canberra every year to be part of it.”
“The Santa Dash and Trolley Drive are the Berry Community’s way of giving back to the community and those who might need some help at Christmas time.
“Proceeds from the Santa Dash will go to the Berry Preschool and all donated goods for the Trolley Drive go to the Shoalhaven Homeless Hub”.
All details of drop off points for donations to the Trolley Drive, registrations for the Santa Dash, and the program of events for the evenings are at the Berry Merry Christmas can be found at www.berrymerrychristmas.org.au and on the Berry Merry Christmas Facebook page.
