The Kookas chased hard and passed our total in the second last over (Jacob O’Connell 129, Manning Berry 3/63, Lachlan Hall 2/31).

In a fantastic win with many players filling in from lower grades, Gerringong second grade side defeated Shellharbour.

Gerringong scored a respectable 164 after being 4-16 early (Paul Berry 51, Adrian Allerby 36) and bowled Shellharbour out for 160 (Paul Berry 5/42, Callum Young 3/24) in a nail-biting finish.

Gerringong were bowled out for 215 (Long Le 57, Brendan Moore 44. Whilst it was a loss, a highlight from a Gerringong perspective was the grade debut of 13-year-old Abbey Speering, who took 2/28 off four overs and her younger brother 11-year-old Will Speering, who also bowled well (4 overs 0/18) without taking a wicket. Will coming off his highest score (69) and his first 50 the week before in the U12s.

The Gerringong U16A’s (Combined side with Albion Park & Lake Illawarra), playing in the Cricket Illawarra/South Coast Combined Competition went down to Northern Districts.

The Gerringong U14A’s side playing in the Cricket Illawarra/South Coast Combined Competition played a two-day match against Dapto.

Gerringong bowled Dapto out for 157 (Jarrod Tiyce 2/20, Lachlan Weir 2/21), but unfortunately were bowled out in the first innings for 84 (George Michael 25, Solomon Northey 15) but managed to capture a bonus point in the second innings after following on finishing the game on 3/33 (Joel Spain 15no).

The Gerringong U12s side went down by one wicket in a fantastic game of cricket to Oak Flats.

Batting first, Gerringong were restricted to a total of 8/93 off their 30 overs (Elijah Chapman 25, Will Speering 22).

Oak Flats were cruising during the middle stages of the innings, however a strong fightback saw Gerringong take four quick wickets leaving Oak Flats seven runs to get with one wicket in hand.

Unfortunately Gerringong were unable to get that last wicket and Oak Flats won the game finishing 7/96. (Will Speering 2/7, Abbey Speering 2/11).
