Gilmore MP Ann Sudmalis said she was supportive of the grant application put forward by Kiama Show Society, and was happy to see it rubber stamped by Canberra.
“It’s great to see the funding come through for the organisation, it strengthens their ability to put on a great show for the region,” she said.
“But this deal is more than just money, it’s about the development of community partnerships that achieves social outcomes for the betterment of the community."
The Kiama Show Society received $16,000 in dollar for dollar funding to assist with ‘The Artisan Expo’ to be held in October 2018.
“The Artisan Expo is a complementary event to the well-established Kiama Show that is now in its 170th year,” David Barnes of Kiama Show Society said.
“The Expo will showcase local specialty producers and demonstrate the opportunities for small scale and household production of high quality food and beverage.
“The event will be organised with several other local groups and will demonstrate the opportunities and benefits that are available in Kiama and the wider Region.”
