Kiama Rotarians added the finishing touches to the new Saddleback Mountain Southern Viewing Platform last week with the installation of new interpretive signs.
This project is an excellent example of what can be achieved for the community when Rotary partners with local and state governments.
More than 60 Vanuatu first responders participated in the NSW Rotary funded, Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Training Program conducted in Port Vila last month.
The month-long project was led by local Rotarian Ian Johnston and included five senior NSW Emergency Service Trainers.
The team ran 16 different training courses that helped increase emergency management capacity and strengthened links between local agencies.
At last week’s dinner, Youth Director Heather Morton provided an update on the various Youth Programs supported by Kiama Rotary.
Heather especially thanked Assistant Director Mal Bracken for his tireless support.
The Club supports many different youth initiatives including: a new Kiama High School Mental Health Program, Kiama Sentral Youth Services, Imagination Library, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN), National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) and Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA).
