The experience of a program of activities and teamwork aims to build leadership skills, confidence and self esteem.
Usually Kiama Rotary members and guests gather each week at the Kiama Leagues Club for dinner and our meeting.
Over the past two weeks while the club is hosting an art show for Kiama Lions, we have been enjoying dinner at a number of local restaurants and hotels.
These times have been great opportunities to have fun and socialise with a wonderful group of friends who are committed to serving the community, locally and through our national and overseas projects.
There are so many activities to be involved in – there is something to suit everyone.
We are happy to welcome new members, even if you don’t have a lot of time to spare at the moment.
KIAMA LIONS
We had a successful market on Sunday, August 20, despite the cold weather which kept people away until the sun warmed everything up.
On the Monday, a stalwart team under the leadership of Club President, Rob McKinnon, erected all the stand in the Leagues Club to enable the art show contestants to display they workmanship.
Last week we buried a Lion of a man in the truest sense of the word, Jack Stoertz, a man with a dry but amazing sense of humour, who had been a very active member of our club for so many years.
We also celebrated the 90 birthday of Johnny Unwin, here's to many more John.
Work on the Carer's cottage is slow currently.
Windows have been replaced but the attachment of the cladding has been slowed by the fact the walls have warped over the years.
We hope to have the final stage of the Gateway Rezoning process put before Council on September 19. Soon after that we should be able to submit our DA.
Ahh the joys of bureaucracy!
