Nickolas Hardes, 34, was arrested by Nowra Police following investigations into the alleged attack in Goolagong Street on June 11.
A 37-year-old man was stabbed multiple times during the incident.
Police arrested Hardes two days later but a court-imposed non-publication order has prevented any reporting on his court appearances until now.
At the time police believed the stabbing was a targeted attack but remained tight lipped about the incident, in which residents had reported hearing gunshots fired.
A crime scene was established at the home with forensic officers and detectives combing the property for two days.
The victim was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and then airlifted by helicopter to St George Hospital in Sydney where he underwent surgery.
Police confirmed the following day they were investigating claims a firearm was discharged during the incident, with Nowra crime manager Detective Chief Inspector Mark Robinson saying police were “keeping an open mind” but “believed it was a targeted attack.”
Hardes appeared again in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday on multiple charges including causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
Crown solicitor Alex Hill successfully applied to remove the suppression order covering Hardes' identity, which had been in place since his first court appearance.
Court papers allege Hardes fired a small gun at the victim before wounding him with a knife between 11am and 11.20am on Sunday, June 11 at North Nowra
Court papers said he was in possession of a stanley knife when arrested.
