In their final match of the regular season, the Knights started the match the more determined but it was the visitors, who came into the match on a seven game win streak, that scored first.
After a grubber kick was put through by the Sharks, the Knights seem to have it covered, but in attempting to flick the ball to Josh Toohey, the pass from Tom Atkins, in his 100th first grade for Kiama, went to ground and was pounced on by Wade Aitken.
Sharp shooter Matt Carroll easily converted for 6-nil after five minutes.
This try seemed make the hosts even more committed to the task at hand, producing a near perfect 25 minutes of rugby league.
They levelled the scores in the 10th minute when winger Cam Cornell found himself on the end of a sweeping move from Cameron Vazzoler and Atkins.
Half Vazzoler then nailed the kick from the sideline for 6-all.
Two minutes later, they had their first lead of the match when forward Brett Wake barged over next to the sticks, after receiving a sharp pass from hooker Daniel Martin.
Vazzoler converted for 12-6 after 12.
The Knights well and truly had a full head of steam when Ethan Ford hit a hole from an Atkins pass, to score the hosts third.
Vazzoler missed his first kick of the afternoon, keeping the lead at 10.
In the 26th minute, Ford then turned provider, creating something out of nothing by attracting four defenders before somehow flicking to winger Cornell, who athletically scored in the corner.
Vazzoler nailed his third conversion for 22-6.
It was tries on back-to-back set for the Knights when Dylan Morris got in on the try-scoring action – chasing a Vazzoler bomb and stripping the ball from a Sharks opponent to score.
Vazzoler added the extras for 28-6, which is how it remained until the break.
But half-time did little to stem the Knights momentum, who were on the front foot from the outset.
Their speed around the ruck saw Sharks prop Craig Stapleton sin-binned for attempting to slow the play the ball down.
From the ensuing set, Ford again hit a hole, this time from Vazzoler pass, to barge over for his second from close range.
Vazzoler’s kick came up short – keeping it at 32-6.
Soon after, the full capacity of the Knights speed was on show, with the try of the match.
Following a half-break by winger Jay Delaney, the ball is spread from right to left before Cam Cornell found himself in space – which saw him run 70 metres to score untouched.
Vazzoler again converted for 38-6.
Against the run of play in the 62nd minute, the Sharks had their second, when Jason Gray swooped on a loose Kiama pass to 80 metres to score.
Carroll converted to reduce the margin to 26.
The final margin was reduced to 20 in the dying moments, when the Sharks scored a consolation try through Aitken – which was converted by Carroll.
Best for the Knights were Vazzoler, Ford, Atkins, Cam Cornell and Toohey, who had an even bigger work load with the early injury to James Brown – while the Sharks were led by Brad Chapamn, Wade Aitken and Dylan McGregor.
