A man is assisting police with their inquiries, following a violent home invasion at Penrose.

A 65-year-old man was left bruised and bloodied after the attack, at his Manuka Avenue home on Sunday night.
Police say a man believed to be aged 22 forced his way through a screen door and into the man’s unit at about 7.30pm.
He allegedly assaulted the older man, punching him repeatedly to the head, before walking through the unit’s rooms.
He departed on foot a short time later, apparently empty-handed.
Lake Illawarra police and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended.
The injured man was treated for a small cut above his eyebrow, and bruising.
About 11.30am Monday, detectives arrested a 22-year-old Dapto man. He remained in police custody by late afternoon.
