Mr Curll, part of Illawarra Rose Society, tidied up the roses at Peace Park, Kiama on the weekend.
Gardeners have until early August to ensure their roses are pruned in time this season.
He said Kiama’s climate is ideal for roses, and they thrive in the sun.
At rose society events, they sell plants to the public, and Mr Curll has noticed housing trends have affected demand for roses.
“We’re finding a lot of people are going for miniature roses in pots,” Mr Currl.
“The demand has been shifting with more people living in apartments and temporary housing.”
