Manager Community and Cultural Development, Nick Guggisberg, said the Health and Sustainability Grants Program was part of the overall Kiama Health Plan.
“There is already some great work being done by local groups to improve our physical and mental health, these grants are a wonderful and effective way for Council to support these efforts,” Mr Guggisberg said.
“Council is providing $4000 a year towards the Program, with groups applying for grants needing to match the funding in-kind or in cash.”
“This will lead to greater and more sustainable outcomes than could be achieved by organisations and groups working on their own.”
There will be two funding rounds each year, with applications due on the third Friday in January and third Friday in July.
The first round of funding closes on Friday, July 21 at 4pm.
