There were question marks over whether the National Parks and Wildlife officer killed the right bird, because several pee wees nest near the entrance of the shopping centre. However, a Bakers Delight worker confirmed that since the bird was shot, staff haven’t witnessed another attack.
At the peak of its fury, the bird swooped five people in half an hour.
Kiama bird attack survivor Nicki Keegan was relieved to discover the bird was culled.
In February it latched onto her lower eyelid, and its claw scratched her eye, causing bleeding and bruising.
“I nearly lost my sight,” she said.
