State Members Shelley Hancock and Gareth Ward want better connection services for commuters between Kiama and Bomaderry stations.
They have written to the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Andrew Constance asking for a trial of some sort of public transport, possibly buses, being made available to meet the trains when they arrive or leave KIama station when the Endeavour diesel services are not available.
“People often have to wait at Kiama for over an hour and if you have a couple of kids, groceries or a medical appointment then that is just not acceptable,” Mr Ward said.
“I will take this up with the minister until I get a result - I am not going to be quiet anymore.”
He said the community has been patiently waiting for improvement but their patience was wearing off and the local state members will be taking the fight up for their electorates.

Julie Wheeler · So was Gareth saying a bus would meet every train coming into Kiama to take passengers to Bomaderry? If so, what if there were only six wanting to board the bus wouldn't this be a huge waste of money?
Susan Matthews · I'm suffering from a cold waiting on Kiama station last Friday. The cold wind went right through me. Its ridiculous that the train doesn't come to Bomaderry.
Helen Fear · Buses run when the line is being worked on, so a bus journey would be helpful when the diesel doesn't meet the Sydney train as per timetable.
Sharron Davison Electrify the last link, & add a couple more carriages from Kiama to Bomaderry until the line is upgradedPaul Terrett · 2:24 Good one Gareth. An express train to Sydney would also be good - the Bomaderry Bullet.
Kylie Whelan · 0:00 What is the reason why the diesel can't come back and forth to meet each Kiama train? That thing scoots along, surely can't be a timing thing. Would love a link to each train . Lots of kids catch the train to school in Wollongong and it would be great not to have to get up so early for the 6.40 train.
Sally Kelton · And you have taken one rail motor out of service on this line . It went to Lithgow / Bathurst . People patronise a bus and bingo the last pass service train will disappear . Why because the rail will say it's under patronised .
Lorraine Sowiak · Just fix the damm train line.
Gwen Meredith · 1:31 Why not fix the railway, ?????
