The accident happened just after 2pm at the intersection with the highway and Edward Street.

Two people are injured. A man in his 40s suffered fracture to right arm. A woman in her 50s was treated at the scene for shock.

Traffic is reported to be heavy.

Southbound diversions are via Albany Street, Princess Street and Edward Street to rejoin the highway.

Emergency services are one the scene.
