ON the seriously long-shot chance that it had somehow escaped anyone's attention, an alert: The time of year has landed with a thump once more upon the seething world of rugby league, signalling long days of near-religious intensity in which ghosts of State of Origin football past, present and future emerge from hibernation and set about stealing away enough media oxygen daily to despatch the tweeting, tumultuous Trump to a shy supporting role. Even another Schapelle extravaganza finds itself under challenge for news space.
