The Breakers weren’t challenged by the Bears on Saturday, winning 10-1 at Lyrebird Park – which rounds out a perfect first five rounds for the league-leaders.
During that stretch, they have claimed a maximum 15 points, while scoring 31 goals and only conceding two.
“I’m very happy with the way we played on Saturday – we went down to Lyrebird Park with a plan and we stuck to it perfectly,” Breakers coach Jadon Lavington said.
“United were clearly missing some key players on the day too.
“We unfortunately, leaked a goal mid-way through the second half, which was a little disappointing.
“Overall though, it was an amazing performance from our lads.
“We’ve had some tough games down there before and it’s incredible to get the win there.”
The star of the day was Jordan Lando, who finished with five goals for the match, while the other goals went to Paul Gaffney (two), Kane Rowe, Jake Packham and Josh Aliston.
“In my eyes, our standouts were Jake Packham and Josh Aliston,” Lavington said.
“Josh was on his debut and is still in high school – he scored a very composed spot kick, so I’m very proud of him.”
Hot on the heals of the Breakers are the Bomaderry Tigers, who defeated Milton 4-2 at Lighthouse Oval, thanks to a brace from Nick Evans and goals from Jordan Haddow and Brendan Kellett. Milton’s goals were scored by Dane Garnon and Matt Grace.
Rob Hawker’s Huskisson made it seven points from their past three matches, defeating Shoalhaven Heads Berry 3-1, thanks to goals from Gary Niemeier, Josh Hawker and Charlie Ward.
In other results, Illaroo and Sussex were forced to share the points after a nil-all draw, while Manyana chalked up their first win of the year, defeating St Geoerges Basin 1-nil. Culburra had the bye.
