The community is begin encouraged to get involved by wearing orange to school of work to show support for SES volunteers.
SES Kiama volunteering strategist Andrew McCullough said WOW Day is all about thanking the volunteers from NSW SES.
“We have around 9000 volunteers in NSW who provide a dedicated service to the community, whether it’s during major weather events, floods and storms, especially in Kiama we do road crash rescue, vertical rescue and help people when they need it most,” he said.
“SES volunteers have been really busy lately with major flooding up in Lismore and volunteers from Kiama have been helping out around the state over the last 12 months out west in Forbes, Parkes and Condobolin and major event in Sydney including the Hills hale storm.”
Schools, shops, towns and workplaces across NSW will be joining the fun and showing their support by decorating their spaces orange.
Don’t forget to post a selfie wearing orange to social media with the #thankyouses.
