In a one-sided affair, the home side ran to a 22-nil lead at half-time and scored another 20 points after the break against a plucky but outclassed Magpies who tried hard all day, but couldn’t match the superior ball play and defence of the home side.
It didn’t take the Superoos long to get on the board when they pounced on a handling error from Berry inside their own half, when prop Aaron Grigg pounced on the ball and held off two defenders to send winger Ben Barnard racing over under the posts.
Five-eighth Josh Kent converted for a 6-nil lead.
Berry then had their best chance of the first half when, on the back of three penalties, they attacked strongly, but the Jamberoo defence held before Superoos centre Jake Clarke found some space on the left with deft footwork and Barnard finished in spectacular style for a 10-nil lead.
Things quickly got worse for the Magpies almost from the kickoff when fullback Mark Asquith found a gap up the middle and linked up with brother James for second-rower James Gilmore to finish.
Kent converted for 16-nil.
Berry steadied for a period, but in the 27th minute the home side were in again when lock Luke Asquith spectacularly burst straight up the middle and outpaced the defence to score out wide for Kent to add the extras and Jamberoo went to the half-time with a commanding 22-nil advantage.
The Magpies were desperate for a good start in the second stanza, but struggled for the start and seven minutes after the long break it was Clarke who again showed the Magpies defence scant respect as he again burst through and send Barnard flying over for his hat-trick and a 26-nil lead.
To their credit the Magpies kept trying and two of their best, captain Josh Ingold and fullback Josh Coulter, combined for Coulter to squeeze through a gap to score and convert and the visitors were on the board.
The game became scrappy, with Jamberoo missing several opportunities, but in the end it was a piece of Jono Dallas magic that provided a try under the posts for Kent, before Mark Asquith scored out wide and Kent sprinted 50 metres to secure his double in the shadows of full-time for replacement Dean Watling to convert from touch.
In a workmanlike Jamberoo performance, front-rower Aaron Grigg and lock Asquith led the way up front, while Dallas, Clarke and Barnard gave the Magpies defence more than their fair share of headaches.
Josh Ingold tried everything he could to lift his Magpies, while Coulter, Blake Dryden and Luke Ryder tries hard all day.
