Mr Kolomeitz, the Gerringong RSL sub-branch president said it was disappointing but he was heartened by the fact  ‘’a lot of good people want me in that role to continue fixing that organisation’’.

‘’It's very disappointing to have been terminated from the role of CEO RSL NSW particularly in light of all the work that I have done in reforming financial and company structures of the organisation and in uncovering the incredible amount of financial misconduct,’’ he told the Mercury on Saturday.

‘’It’s far from coincidental that termination came just days after my lawyers filed with the Fair Work Commission to get me back into the workplace and to continue reforming and fixing the mess.

‘’It’s similarly perhaps not coincidental that the termination came just a week after I reported RSL NSW to the police for fraudulently using my signature on state council ballot papers.

‘’We'll now be in the Fair Work Commission but I have an incredible amount of support out there both in sub-branches and at the bi-partisan political level to get back in their and continue fixing the mess the state council created.

‘’I’m not in the habit of taking money from charities but I’m also not in the habit of being a victim so I have to go to the Fair Work Commission and let the process run its course.’’

NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley has thrown his support behind Mr Kolomeitz, who took over as RSL NSW state secretary and CEO in August 2015, partly in the hope he would attract much-needed younger veterans who have largely stayed away from the organisation.

Mr Foley tweeted ‘’@RSLNSW sack CEO Glenn Kolomeitz. – Vindictive & inappropriate given current enquiry into organisation. Veterans deserve better’’.

Mr Kolomeitz announced a forensic audit into RSL NSW spending last September that rapidly spread and sparked other probes that have ensnared the national president Rod White - who has stood aside - and former NSW president Don Rowe.
