The AUSSI Masters Swimming State Championships took place at Sydney’s Olympic Park on April 8-9.
It is considered one of the highlights of the Masters swimming calendar.
Kiama Downs resident Pam Munday (representing the Tuggeranong Masters club) was a standout with five golds in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke, the 200m butterfly and the 200m individual medley. Munday won her age group.
Kiama’s Bob Kirkbride, competing in the 70-74 years’ age group scored silver medals in the 50m and 200m freestyle, as well as a third placing in the 100m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.
Jamberoo’s Narelle Day won gold in the 50m butterfly and bronze in the 50m and 200m freestyle, and fifth in the 100m breaststroke.
Both were representing the Oak Flats AUSSI Masters Club.
