Practicing parading the livestock to cleaning, clipping and more takes a lot of work and The Land’s photographer Rachael Webb has been popping into schools around NSW for months – catching them getting their show cattle and sheep ready for the big event.
And as well as enthusiastic students, she also found some wonderful cattle names.
A bunch of which come from a few Aussie icons from Shane Warne to Lamington, Ned Kelly, Pavola, Ernie Dingo and more.
You can catch them all in action in the cattle rings at the Sydney Olympic Park showgrounds during the show.
And if your school is headed to the show – then this is your chance to show off all the hard work your team does during showtime for the chance to win a tonne of feed.
Throughout the course of the Sydney Royal Show – from bump in on Saturday, April 1 to the close of the show on April 16, The Land is running a competition which all schools competing at the Royal can take part in.
We want to see photos of your hard work, successes, events, and fun at the show.
All you need to do is snap photos of your school students, teachers, or parents and helpers at work at the Royal, tag it #SchoolsOnShow and include the name of your school, then share it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to be in with the chance to win.
The Land will keep count of what’s being posted and the school with the most social media posts by the end of the show will win one tonne of feed courtesy of Alexander Downs.
