No longer simply called “O Week”, orientation to uni life is now labelled a “festival” with the addition of a pool party, free movies and free dance party alongside the usual faculty and library tours.
But life’s not just a party for new and returning university pupils, the first week on campus is also designed to equip them with the tools to be able to help them through the next few years of their life.
Yes, there are clubs eager to sign up new members (the Skydiving and Salsa clubs sound interesting), but there are also information sessions on seeing the world through study, English conversation groups for international visitors, life and wellbeing tours plus yoga.
While those who have moved out of home can source free, preloved home wares from the “Good Will Hunting” event at UniHall on Friday with their student cards.
