Friends of Kiama Library’s next event is on Saturday, March 4 at 2.30pm in the Family History Centre.
It will feature Sydney-based author A.B. Patterson.
Patterson will seek to take attendees back to the entertainment of the detective mystery.
His 2015 novel Harry's World portrays Harry Kenmare as a prehistoric private detective in an unfriendly modern world, trawling through Sydney's corrupt social and political elites, on a mission of justice.
And the rules don't always apply.
The book has been seen as an open homage to the noir stylings of Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler with a decidedly Australian sense of humour.
Join him in the jungle of 21st Century Port Jackson.
Patterson was born in Sydney and grew up in Europe, returning to Australia as an adult to follow his career in law enforcement, and other government agencies, as Detective Sergeant in the WA Police, and later a Chief Investigator with the NSW Commission Against Corruption.
The event will include afternoon tea and entry by donation of $5 (members)/$8 (non-members) as usual.
