The third open air Foxground Concert for Timor, which has been re-named ‘Foxfest’ will take place on Saturday, March 4.
It will help support the Bairo Pite Clinic in Dili, Timor-Leste.
The concert will take place at Joe Cato and wife Maura's property, Glengariff.
The performance will be held in a natural amphitheatre adjacent to a rainforest and with ocean views.
The inaugural event in 2015 drew 250 people and raised more than $40,000.
Last year’s event attracted 250 people and raised $58,000.
Mr Cato, a civil engineer, said he had been involved with the cause for more than eight years, after being asked to assist non-governmental organisation efforts to get a hospital operating in Timor.
Bairo Pite Clinic Australia is an Australian not-for-profit company with the objective of supporting and enhancing Bairo Pite Clinic’s delivery of healthcare.
“They were offered a site by the government of East Timor that was the original Portuguese hospital,” Mr Cato said.
“It was in a fair state of disrepair... It took a few years to organise the lease on this site from the government, and at the 11th hour the government said, 'we want this up-and-running in 18 months, otherwise forget it'.
“There's no way that could happen, because there was about a $20 million funding that we needed to raise before we could start."
Mr Cato said the organisation then re-focused, deciding to support the existing Dili clinic in the short to medium term.
The registered charity will receive 100 per cent of surplus funds from the concert.
“What we raise looks after their expenses for a month,” Mr Cato said.
This year’s acts include James Blundell, Paul Greene, Lo Roberts, Harry O’Brien and The Dynamic Lifters.
There will also be guest speakers, charity auctions and raffle prizes.
Mr Cato said there would be a guest appearance from a few women who work in the clinic.
Mr Cato said the concert had a friendly vibe of people supporting a common cause.
“I am excited about the line-up and I am sure that it will be even better than last year's event,” he said.
“We have some fresh young artists as well as some more established performers.
“It’s unique because of the feel of the place.
“When you get here, you look around and see the view, and enjoy the quiet that comes with the surroundings.”
The cost is $100 per ticket, with children under-15 free.
All drink (including wine and beer) is included in the ticket price.
Bring a picnic lunch, picnic rug, cushions, low chairs and stubby holders and maybe an umbrella just in case.
There will be parking on-site.
The gate will be open from 9am and tours of their gardens will be available.
The concert will run from 10.30am until approximately 6.30pm.
The property is located at 130 Hoddles Road, Foxground.
