KIAMA ROTARY
January is Rotary Vocational Service Month. One of Rotary’s key objectives is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and in particular, to encourage and foster high ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society. We will highlight this Avenue of Service during the month.

We will be operating our BBQ at this weekend’s Seaside Markets and then the 26th Annual Rotary Antiques and Retro Fair will be held at the Leisure Centre during the weekend of January 21 and 22. Our many loyal stallholders will be in attendance plus some new stalls which sound very exciting. Entry fees for Adults is $10, Concessions $7, children under 16 are free.
Unfortunately, our legendary Antiques Appraiser is feeling a little under the weather so we will not be able to provide our usual valuation service this year. However, residents are invited to submit items for sale on consignment at the Fair. Please call Rotarian John Worstencroft at 0419 002 655 for more information.
KIAMA LIONS
Last weekend some of us helped the local Sudu Dragon boat team raise money for a new boat. This week we are at the normal markets raising money for our Club's funds.
This year we have decided to run our Kembla Grange Race Day. We will take over the racecourse for the day. There will be about 7 races and we will take over the big Bert Lillye Lounge for our own guests to have a slap-up buffet and bar right next to the saddling enclosure and finishing line. We are currently looking for Raffle prizes and sponsorship. In addition, we would like to sell as many tables of 10 in the Lounge as possible, so if you and your friends would like to make up a table please let us know. The date is April 1st (and no, this is not a spoof)!
Kiama and Minnamurra Lions would like to thank all those who gave up their time over the Christmas and New Year holidays to help on our Driver Reviver van. It was much appreciated by all the drivers who stopped.
