Some of the other family members are still a quite timid after their “traumatic” experience of being stolen from the park, but are slowly improving.
Zoo-keepers have isolated their enclosure to allow the family to return to normal routine, and expect to reopen the exhibit to the public next week.
In a statement from the management and staff they thanked the community for their support and help in finding their lost furry friends.
“We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation and gratitude for the the community interest and support, along with the relentless pursuit and investigations by Wollongong Police and Detectives. This combined with the extensive interest and coverage through all forms of local and international media, have all been instrumental in the swift recovery of our precious animals.”
Pgymy mum Jo is said to be returning to her cheeky self and jumping on keepers during feed times to get a better look at her dinner as well as keeping both babies in check.
Gomez has continued to be a very protective and caring dad, carrying the babies often to give mum a break.
"It's been an emotional week, to see the team so devastated, then relieved, we just can’t thank the community enough for their support," said Symbio general manager Matt Radnidge.
