Name: Carmel Liertz.
Occupation: Director of 'Performance Confidence', a small business developed from my academic research.
Suburb: Kiama Downs.
Hometown: Though I grew up in Brisbane ... I've had the privilege of studying and living 10 years in Munich, one year in USA and then living and working in five different Australian states.
What brought you to the area: Visiting Kiama one weekend I was immediately struck by the positive vibrations which said, “this is it! You have to live here!” From then on, it was remarkably straightforward.
Hobbies: Walking in beautiful environments, reading, researching the latest natural health findings, playing classical/jazz piano repertoire, improvising new pieces, listening to ABC Radio National and travelling to inspirational places.
Fun fact about you: I have two sides to my personality – introvert and extrovert – allowing me to be my authentic, eccentric self.
My favourite thing about the area is: The diversity of the environments.
What makes the area unique: For me, it’s the natural beauty, the natural way of being, reflected in the openness, friendliness of the people. The unique setting ... has a positive effect on us all.
