Number 10 Ftizroy Street in Kiama was built around 1849 to 1855 and one of the first miner’s cottages in the area, but has no heritage order on the property.
Ray White Kiama director Michele Lay said selling in December had benefits for both sellers and buyers.
Ms Lay said contrary to what people may think, January is one of the most quiet times of the year with more people browsing not buying.
“There’s always a big rush to buy before Christmas because then you go into the new year knowing what your plans are … and start the new year on a good foot,” she said.
The character filled three-bedroom cottage is minutes away from the harbour and main street, and revamped for low maintenance and outdoor entertaining.
Both bathrooms and the laundry have recently been completely made over though keeping with the character and charm of the period home.
An attic has also been transformed to be suitable for an additional bedroom or office.
