Member for Kiama Gareth Ward recently presented $9000 funding to representatives from the Gerringong Jets Cricket Club at Gerry Emery Oval.
This funding will enable the Gerringong club to purchase a new cricket pitch roller.
“Junior and senior cricket is a very popular sport in our region which promotes physical activity and a healthy lifestyle,” Mr Ward said.
Brad Speering, secretary of the Gerringong Jets Cricket Club welcomed the funding.
“This new roller will provide a massive boost for our club and will also save time for our volunteers who work to prepare the pitch,” he said.
“We are one of nine clubs in the South Coast competition, there is a first grade and a second grade division which both play on turf.
“We were in need of a decent roller in order to prepare the pitch up to standard.”
