Name: Roy Schmidt.
Occupation: Almost retired! I had previously owned SCOOPS Kiama from 2005 – 2008, and Gerringong 2007 to 2016.
Suburb: Gerroa
Hometown: Brisbane, which explains why I am a Broncos and QLD supporter.
What brought you to the area: The fresh air, relaxing views and friendly people. It’s a great place to raise our two boys.
Hobbies: Good wine, good food and good friends!
Fun fact about you: I have many hidden talents – my wife, Anne, is still searching for them.
My favourite thing about the area is: It constantly provides the opportunity to easily relax with your family and friends whilst watching many people around you doing the same.
What makes the area unique: The ability to stand in so many locations and while turning your head approximately 180 degrees, view stunning beaches and headlands, lush paddocks and rolling hills and finish with those great mountains … and throw in those breathtaking sunrises and sunsets!
