From Friday December 16 the Fig Lawn will each week show a variety of new release and classic blockbusters which range from comedies to thrillers to the family friendly and “girls’ night” themed.
“As always there is something on the program for everyone and we aim to keep our prices accessible so that as many people as possible can enjoy,” said Simon Rollin IMB Bank Sunset Cinema Managing Director.
Kicking off the program is the psychological thriller The Accountant starring Ben Affleck as Christian Wolff, a math genius who works with the world’s most dangerous criminals.
Other fresh flicks include Office Christmas Party with Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston, Dr Strange with Benedict Cumberbatch and Rachel McAdams, and the next in the Star Wars franchise Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Movies to bring on nostalgia under the stars include the 80s love story of Johnny and Baby in Dirty Dancing and Back to the Future starring a young Michael J Fox as Marty McFly.
Families will have plenty to choose from over the school holidays with the likes of Pete’s Dragon, Storks, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Trolls, Red Dog: True Blue, Moana, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and a dapper koala named Buster Moon steals the show in Sing.
The final film to round out the program features Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in the romantic science fiction thriller Passengers.
A fully licensed bar will be on site to complement wood fired pizzas from Fired Up Mobile Pizza.
The season runs for 10 weeks with at least three movies each week and closes on Saturday February 18, 2017.
Various ticket options are available including add-ons like a “lawn lounge” or “weather cancellation package” to allow ticket refunds (minus the booking fee and package cost) if Mother Nature doesn’t play nicely and washes out the show.
