The Relay for Life will take place March 18-19, 2017 at Bill Smyth Oval and teams can now log into the Eurobodalla Relay for Life 2017 website to register their teams.
The relay event itself is a 24-hour continuous event where participants, visitors and volunteers come together to reflect, remember, celebrate and walk together to raise money to help beat cancer. The event also features activities, stall, music and very ceremonies to celebrate life and lives lost to cancer.
“The Narooma event committee will be seeking support in the form of donations both financial and in-kind to provide shelter, food, entertainment and other ancillary logistics for the event and it is a chance for Narooma to again showcase why it renowned for having such a big heart,” chairperson Gillian Kearney said.
An official launch of the event is planned for early December 2016.
“The 2017 committee consists of residents from all walk of life, many of whom are cancer survivors and carers for people who have had cancer, all motivated and committed to giving hope to those facing this illness,” she said. “Given that one of every two people will be directly affected either personally or close to someone who is affected, it is a relevant and personal battle for most of the community on one level or another. Join us to fight cancer!”
