The annual Kiama Show Ball has been moved from its traditional slot in January to November.
The Show Ball to coincide with the 2017 Show will be on November 26 and will have an ‘Ocean Wonderland’ theme.
Show Ball co-ordinator Fiona Wilkinson said the committee had decided to move the ball to a less busy time of year, ideally to attract larger numbers.
“The Show Ball is already a very popular night,’’ Mrs Wilkinson said.
“But we are hoping that the November date will appeal to more people.
“More of our members will be in town then, rather than away on holidays and the weather is cooler.’’
Mrs Wilkinson said she also hoped local businesses would embrace the November date and use the event as a Christmas party for employees.
Entertainment on the night will be provided by Care Factor and Kiama favourite Woody.
“Care Factor and Woody were such a hit last time, that we decided to ask them back,’’ Ms Wilkinson said.
“The Show Ball is a great community event and a chance to get together with friends for a night full of great entertainment and dancing that supports our longest running community event by raising funds to support the Kiama Show.’’
The ball is on Saturday, November 26 at the Kiama Leisure Centre from 8pm-1am.
Tickets are $35 for members and $40 for non-members. Tables of ten available.
Book online on the Kiama Show website – kiamashow.com.au or at Harcourts Kiama.
