There is the Cottage Industry Expo at the Narooma, an art and craft trail at Mystery Bay and also the Narooma District Camera Club photographic show at Club Narooma.
And the good news is that all these shows continue for the rest of today and all day tomorrow. And they’re all free but bring your dollars to support the artists.
Cottage Industry Expo at the Narooma Sports and Leisure Centre is being presented by the Montague Art and Craft Society under its Creative Coastal Community banner.
MACS president Irene Berry, displaying her own art work at the leisure centre, said the crowds had been good at the inaugural expo.
“We’d like to do more than one a year if its successful,” Irene said. “It’s about supporting the local creative community so if you’re interested in having a stall contact us at the Narooma Visitor Centre.”
There are about 20 stall holders featuring paintings, woodwork, jewellery, textiles and work by the Men’s Shed, and other products and services.
Tilba was well represented by Kelly Eastwood from the River Cottage Australia cooking school, and also the Tilba Easter Festival, as well as Phil Stokes from Phil’s Kombi Kitchen, with his preserves and relishes.
All the stallholders donated an item for a hamper for the raffle drawn on Sunday.
The Narooma Cottage Industry Expo continues until 4pm today and again tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.
Just across the roundabout is the Narooma District and Camera Club photo show at Club Narooma, which stays open until 10pm tonight and again 10pm tomorrow.
Organisers were pleased with the crowds so far as the show opened Friday and had been attracting plenty of attention of club patrons.
Down the highway at Mystery Bay there was the inaugural art and craft trail with more than a dozen residents opening their studios and backyards to show off their own creations, all for sale.
The Mystery Bay art and craft trail also continues tomorrow, just look for the balloons outside the participating houses and maps are available, and remember to take your cash.
There is so much more art and music happening at Narooma this October long weekend.
The Simply Twisted Productions gigs continue with the ‘Art Is’ live show at the Narooma Kinema tonight, the legendary Backsliders tomorrow at the Narooma Golf Club and then wrapping up with a local talent concert on Monday.
Tomorrow, Sunday also sees the South Coast Knife Show on again at the Tilba Big Hall.
