Led by current councillor and Jamberoo dairy farmer Mark Honey and long standing Gerringong identity Mark Westhoff, the Honey/Westhoff team is passionate about protecting our village boundaries and leading debate on sensitive design for better development.
The team is complemented by Dave Munro, Carmel Goldsmith and Barry Wilson, and is strongly supported by outgoing Mayor, Brian Petschler. Independent representation of all residents in the municipality is their promise to ratepayers.
“The concerns of residents and ratepayers are far more important to our team than party politics," Mark Honey said. "Independent councillors understand individual and community needs as well as delivering what is in the community’s best interests. Whether ratepayers are village or rural, young or mature, we offer balance and independent integrity.”

Mark Westhoff stated, "Being able to represent Gerringong within Council will be a privilege and provide a valuable opportunity to deliver and influence the unique aspirations of our local southern area ratepayers.”
The Honey/Westhoff team will work tirelessly with council directors to ensure clear dialogue. “We will strive for appropriate compromise when necessary and represent all electors to achieve sound outcomes,” the team leaders stated. “We are excited about future skilled employment opportunities through utilising an ageing Bombo Quarry into a possible Hi-Tech Business Park. Also ensuring Blue Haven grows as a centre of excellence – fostering more employment, tourism and business opportunities right across the municipality."
Mark Honey said, “Add to these, we have the current Akuna St supermarket/parking project, the new Gerringong Library/Museum, Kiama's unique and vital outreach services and the Minnamurra walking/cycle trail. The new aged care facility on the old hospital site demands an independent united group, ready to work with Council as a team. The Honey/Westhoff team vow to continue keeping Kiama Council independent, open and accountable.”
