IT was a case of pun very much intended for the Kiama Anglican Church community last week as work began on the slab for their long-awaited Youth Shed.

"It's nice to see the dreams becoming concrete - literally," honorary project manager, builder and church member Adam Vidilini said.
Plans for the purpose-built Youth Shed and other upgraded facilities have been about 10 years in the planning.
Last year the church received a $25,000 state government grant for the project.
The project in total has been estimated at $1.5 million with remaining money coming from fund-raising and the church community.
"Apart from the grant we have had no external sources of revenue," Mr Vidilini said.
"So this has come from the mums and dads who put their bums on the church seats every week."
The venue is expected to open for business by Christmas.
The church's senior minister Steve Stanis thanked the community for their generosity in helping the project get off the ground.
"It is very exciting to see the project at this stage," he said.
Church youth minister Steve Inman said that, among other things, it would be used for the Friday night youth fellowship.
"The young people are very excited about it," he said. "The good thing about the Youth Shed is that the space is for the young people. It is especially for them to hang out in and it is a place they can own themselves."
