Franchisee Lube Markovski said he could have opened later in the week on a busier day but decided to try and avoid big queues on the first day as much as possible so people could have a better experience.
“Today has gone beyond my expectations. We thought it was going to be a soft opening”.
Mr Markovski said many first time Grill’d customers tried out the healthy burgers and a number of bookings were made for the first night people who did not want to miss out on day one.
“We have had a lot of new people who have never tried Grill’d before and the best comment I got was from Jack (Ireland) who said it was the best hamburger he has ever had. The feedback has been fantastic. We actually expect a big night tonight,” he said.
Finishing touches are being put on the new sea-themed children’s playground which will allow Cold Rock to re-open.
Mr Markovski is expecting patronage to build with Thursday night and the weekend (particularly Father’s Day) likely to be busy.
Stockland Shellharbour’s new-look dining precinct is called The Avenue and the new Chong and Co Thai Restaurant is expected to open in a few weeks.
