After years of lobbying for noise abatement at Coryule Place, Kiama, work has been completed on the 2.5m high sound barrier built on the eastern side of the Princes Highway in Kiama.

Construction began on the project, worth up to $1 million, in May which spanned 213 metres in length and started south of the Bland Street overpass.
Completed a month ahead of schedule, Member for Kiama Gareth Ward said a number of local residents deserved recognition in getting the project underway.
“I would like to acknowledge and thank local Coryule Place residents John Blom and Robert Behl who first raised this matter with me and worked constructively with me to get the result," he said.
“Indeed, this was a matter that local residents took up with the former Member for Kiama. I would also like to thank the community for their patience while the work was being carried out."
