Jacob, who attends Shellharbour Anglican College, competed in the 2016 Australian Junior Dirt Track Championships in Gunnedah.
The Motorcycling Australia event was comprised of heats for each category, of which Jacob was racing in three separate categories on three different motorbikes.
Each category was made up of a varying number of heats, with top riders qualifying through to the finals.
Overall Jacob rode in 12 races to qualify.
Jacob managed to qualify for the finals as first on one bike (85cc four-stroke modified, 10 to under 14 years), equal second on another bike (85cc two-stroke, nine to under 11 years) and fifth on the third bike (65cc, nine to under 13 years).
“He didn’t get off to a good start on two of the bikes but managed to make his way back up to finish fifth in two categories with great racing,” his mother Leah said.
“However the most exciting part is that he was crowned 85cc four-stroke modified 10 to under 14 years Australian Champion for 2016 with a first in the final race for this category.
“We are all very proud of him for all the hard work he and his dad Chris have put into making this dream come true.”
