Roof accident –Staff asked a 56-year-old man to leave the Cobargo Hotel at 8.30pm on Friday due to his alleged intoxication and behaviour.

He left the hotel and climbed on board his Mercedes camper van, driving it into the roof of the hotel, causing damage to the vehicle and building.
He then attempted to leave the area, but bystanders were able to remove the keys from the van. Police arrived later to find the man asleep in the van.
He failed a breath test and was taken to Narooma police station where he recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.135 and was charged with mid-range drink driving.
Window smashed – Unknown persons threw a projectile through the front window of a Bermagui motel just after 7.30pm on Friday. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Narooma police on 4476 2044 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
Coolagolite fire – The National Parks and Wildlife Service reported to the police assistance line a fire on Cadjangarry Mountain near Coolagolite at 5pm on Friday. The fire burned about 10 hectares of bushland.
Purse returned – A black ladies purse found at Dalmeny at 11am on Thursday containing personal papers was handed into police, who identified the owner and returned the purse.
School damage – More than $1200 worth of damage has been made to a school shed and garage door at a Moruya primary school sometime over the weekend of August 13-14. It appears there was an attempt to break into the shed and garage, however no access was gained. Police forensically examined the scene.
Emergency app – Narooma and Far South Coast police are urging all district residents to consider downloading the Emergency+ mobile phone app.
The NSW Police Force, as part of Australia’s Triple Zero Awareness Working Group, has assisted to develop the smartphone app Emergency+ for iOS and Android devices.
With 65 per cent of calls to Triple Zero (000) made from mobile phones, often callers cannot provide emergency operators with their exact location. The Emergency+ app overcomes this problem by using the caller’s smartphone’s GPS functionality to provide latitude and longitude/GPS coordinates.
Emergency+ also provides users with information about who to call in various non-emergency situations:
