COUNTRY Labor has stepped into the Shoalhaven Local Government election race, fielding candidates in two wards.

It is the first time Country Labor will be represented at the local level, with candidates in Wards 1 and 3.
They will be joined by another new group, For a Better Shoalhaven, which has candidates in Ward 2.
Fifty candidates will line up in the election on September 10.
The battle for mayor will be a race of three.
Greens candidate Amanda Findley has drawn the top spot on the ballot paper, New Shoalhaven Independents candidate Greg Watson has the second sport and current mayor, Joanna Gash from Team Gash is third.
Final nominations for the election closed Wednesday afternoon.
Ward 2 boasts the most councillor candidates with 18, while 16 candidates will contest both Wards 1 and 3.
In Ward 1 The Greens, Team Gash, Country Labor and the New Shoalhaven Independents each have four candidates.
In Ward 2 the New Shoalhaven Independents have five candidates as does Team Gash, while For a Better Shoalhaven and The Greens have four each.
In the southern Ward 3, Country Labor, The Greens, the New Shoalhaven Independents and Team Gash all have four candidates.

Ward 2 - Greg Watson, Mitchell Pakes, Anthony Fernie, Peter Gaffey, John Bolt (New Shoalhaven Independents); Joanna Gash, Barry McCaffery, Jemma Tribe, Dennis Williams, Tom Marshall (Team Gash); Daniel Willoughby, Michael Davis, Alex Ross, Amanda Miller (For a Better Shoalhaven); John Levett, Julie Danser, Kim Stephenson, Judy Kowalski (The Greens).
