For a long time WIN had a lock on the local news timeslot, which ran at 7pm before partnering with Ten.
Since then the local news timeslot has moved to 6pm.
At the end of July Prime trumpeted its ratings win at 6pm for that week, snaring 44.5 per cent of viewers.
WIN came in second that week with 30.9 per cent.
WIN CEO Andrew Lancaster wasn’t fazed by the Prime win.
“If another network wants to tout that they’ve had a good week, then good luck to them,” he said at the time.
Last week, WIN had a win over Prime in that 6pm timeslot.
WIN racked up an average of 40,103 viewers for its local news last week, 2537 people ahead of Prime on 37,566.
Mr Lancaster said he was pleased with the result.
“Whilst it is a marathon not a sprint, this win at 6pm for our local news against two national news bulletins proves our belief that viewers are interested in what is going on in their own patch.”
