After selling out 750 copies of her famous recipes in the first print run, another 1000 were quickly organised.
They officially went on sale Wednesday morning with Mrs Muller, staging a special signing session, and another 270 books were sold.
That was on top of more than 200 books that were already pre-ordered.
A steady stream of purchasers came into the Nowra store to “grab a copy”.
“Honestly, I never expected anything like this,” the 91-year-old said as she looked down the line of prospective buyers waiting for a signed copy.
“This is incredible.
“I think I will have to extend my time.
“I’m glad I let them know at the home I would be late for lunch.”
Her planned one hour signing session quickly blew out to two hours.
Multiple copies were being purchased at each time.
“Voni’s a cousin of mine and I have to get copies for the family,” said Margaret Maynard as she purchased nine copies of the book.
Of course, each book sale was also accompanied by a quick chat.
“We all want to make a Voni Muller scone” said one fan as she lined up for her signed copy of the book.
All proceeds from the sale of the book go to the St Vincent de Paul Society, with Mrs Muller already presenting $2000 to the organisation from the sale of the first batch of books.
Copies cost $20 and are available at the St Vincent de Paul stores in Nowra and Culburra, with Mrs Muller holding another special signing session at the Nowra store on Thursday afternoon from 2pm to 3.30pm.
One of Mrs Muller’s book recently sold at auction for $600.
