Peter Robinson said in the small hours of Friday, July 29, a wheel was stolen from his Mitsubishi Mirage, parked in the driveway of our house at Kianga.
“May we advise the thief that he has added to the woes of the disabled octogenarian owner, who shortly to undergo spinal surgery,” Mr Robinson said.
“This despicable act caused great inconvenience and dismay, requiring us to change our plans for hospital attendance. To those responsible for this miserable theft, my wife and I hope that the stolen wheel proves to be a bringer of bad luck to you. You certainly made our lives more difficult.”
On a positive note, his call to the police was answered promptly and efficiently and Mr Robinson and his wife Yvonne would sincerely like to thank Senior Constable Gavin Warner of the Narooma police for “his polite and good-humoured assessment of the incident and particularly thank him for his work, beyond the call of duty, in installing our car’s spare wheel.
“This community is fortunate to have officers of this calibre working on our behalf. Thank-you Gavin,” he said.
Mr Robinson was amazed that someone was able to jack up his car and steel the wheel without any of the neighbours or even the family dog noticing.
If anyone has any information about the theft, please contact Narooma police on 4476 2044 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
