Mr Ward also took the opportunity to try and convince the New South Wales Minister for Lands and Water to fund a $150,000 project to resurface asphalt roads within Killalea State Park.
Killalea State Park chairman Sam Edwards and acting manager Luke Daniels were also on hand to discuss the funding for the park.
“It was great to have the Minister Niall Blair here to visit this beautiful part of the region to understand the importance of this project for our local community,’’ Mr Ward said.
“This fantastic state park is not only a wonderful tourist attraction, but an important treasure for our locals.
“This funding will help to secure the condition and safety of the roads within the park and make it even more enjoyable for all its visitors.
“I thank the Minister for visiting the region today and look forward to his consideration of this project and the possible funding grant.’’
