Their undefeated 15 years and under division four team finished in first place, five points ahead of runners-up Wollondilly, with 18 wins.
“We’ve had teams win before at that event, but I believe it’s the first time we’ve had a team be undefeated,” Kiama Netball Association president Rhonda Beedles said.
Kiama Netball Association had four teams in the four age groups competing - 12 years, 13 years, 14 years and 15 years.
Their 12 years and under team finished 12th, 13 years and under finished fourth, and 14 years and under finished ninth.
The championships were co-hosted by three venues from July 2-4.
Campbelltown District (Championship Division), Bankstown City (division Two) and Illawarra District Netball Associations (division three and four) co-hosted this year’s event, which attracted thousands of visitors from throughout the state.
More than 3300 athletes took to the courts to contest over 5400 matches across the three days, with more than 83,000 goals scored.
Mrs Beedles said their results were “a major feat”.
“The competition is first past the post, so every game is vital to keep a team in the running to take out the comp,” he said.
“The 15 years’ representative team won the division four competition, undefeated, which was great.”
The team consisted of Hannah Brockman, Laura Burling, Allanah Butler, Georgia Deen, Jasmin Kirk, Amy McHugh, Abbey Murphy, Emma Roff, Emily Stewart and Teana Woods.
They were coached by Helen Innes with assistant coach Bec Jeziorny and manager Sandra Dodd.
“The Kiama Association is very proud of the team’s efforts; they are great ambassadors for Kiama,” Mrs Beedles said.
“Congratulations to all of our teams who conducted themselves with distinction both on and off the court over the entire weekend.”
Netball NSW Competitions manager Claire Dale congratulated every player, coach, umpire and official who helped make this year’s tournament a success.
“Netball NSW would like to congratulate not only the 2016 State Age Champions, but the many thousands that participated in this year’s tournament,” Dale said.
“We’ve been treated to some fantastic netball across the three days, and I’d like to acknowledge everyone for their efforts.”
