Located along the Kiama Coastal Walk at the base of Blowhole Point, the sculpture is positioned to allow people the opportunity to visit and appreciate the artwork.
Mr. Flugelman’s daughter Kay said she is delighted one of her father’s works will be located in Kiama – a place where Mr Flugelman spent much of his time. During 1983 – 2002, Mr Flugelman purchased land on Jamberoo Mountain and regularly visited Kiama.
Following his death in 2013, Kiama Council purchased the sculpture when the Flugelman family sold Bert Flugelman’s remaining works.
Kay will be attending the ceremony on behalf of her father Mr Flugelman, and will be joined by Kiama Mayor Brian Petschler. All members of the public are welcome to attend the event, which starts at 9:30am.
