Children at the Koninderie Preschool in Albion Park have taken on the 'Gutsy Challenge' for the second time to raise money for the GI Cancer Institute.

After being sponsored by family and friends to eat healthily for a week, the funds raised contributed to gastro-intestinal (GI) research.
Koninderie Preschool educator Tarryn Bunt said the children loved participating in the challenge.
"As an educator, I thought it was such a great way to promote healthy eating habits with cooking,” she said.
“The kids loved the games and enjoyed the challenge, while gaining healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.”
With 33 Australians dying each day from GI cancer, the 'Gutsy Challenge' allowed the students of Koninderie Preschool to learn about ways to lower the risk of GI cancer.
Activities included making vegetable soup, fruit kebabs and fresh orange juice, as well as playing a number of games to learn about the benefits of fruit and vegies.
