Local artist David K. Rees put the finishing touches on the portrait this week and said Mr Ward’s striking features light up the canvas.
“He’s fascinating because of course he’s an albino and he’s registered blind which makes it even more interesting,” Mr Rees said.
“His colouration is quite interesting because obviously his face and hands are different.
“His face is quite pink and his hands don’t have the same colouration which is interesting and anyone looking at that will say ‘well that’s not right’ when in fact it’s very right.”
Mr Rees began painting several years ago while living in Dubai.
“I noticed reflections on windows and it fascinated me. I started a series which was my reflect a dimension series and I’ve exhibited those all over the world.”
After putting the strings on the violin, the portrait will feature in the Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney.
